Get Ready for Opening Day Tomorrow!

Excitement is in the air, and so are the birds! Tomorrow’s the big day, so here’s everything you need to know to make it a success.

Key Points:

  • Birds Are Flying All Day: Don’t pack up and leave if you haven’t bagged anything by 9:00 AM. These birds have shifted their flight patterns, and they’re flying later in the morning and earlier in the afternoon. Most action happens between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with even high noon showing promise. Stay patient and keep your eyes on the sky.

  • Prime Flight Times: On most properties in Anna, flights have been peaking between 3:00 and 4:00 PM. If you’re making a day of it, consider packing lunch or grabbing something quick—but whatever you do, stay out there! It’s going to be hot, so bring plenty of water and feel free to set up canopies or tents for some shade.

  • Property Updates: The birds are active on Big Boy and Wildcat, with peak flights around 3:00 PM. Expect some good shooting if you stick it out all day. Don’t just show up for an hour or two in the morning and evening—these birds are on the move throughout the day.

  • Logistics: Here’s the link to the exact entrance for Cowboy and Flat Top. I’ll be out there tomorrow morning, moving between properties. For those of you on Big Boy, Gary Makovec will be your contact and he’ll be there bright and early. You can reach him at 214-578-3809.

If you need anything at all, don’t hesitate to call or text me. I can’t wait to see you out in the field!
